Nurse Aide Training
Alia Healthcare offers CNA training classes in Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio. Click on the city closest to you for the school’s location and a complete schedule. To sit for your certification exam, the state requires 75 training hours from an ODH authorized training center: 59 classroom hours plus 16 clinical hours in an actual nursing home setting.
Once you are certified, our job placement assistance program helps graduates find rewarding careers in hospitals, nursing homes, long-term care facilities, assisted living, hospice care, or home health care.

Alia Healthcare offers BLS Provider certification covering high-quality CPR and AED (automated external defibrillator) training. This is provided by qualified AHA BLS instructors, designed for emergency response teams, safety personnel, supervisors, and individuals requiring cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification. This is also an excellent program for anyone in the general public who wants to learn lifesaving skills.
Our 4-hour CPR course will teach you how to provide Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR in breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants. Instruction includes how to sustain life in sudden health emergencies until professional help arrives.

Practical Nursing is now offered by our sister school AIAM, the American Institute of Alternative Medicine, on Alia's curriculum and teaching philosophy. The AIAM team is led by Sandra Osman, RN, MSN, Alia's President and principal instructor. Students enroll with AIAM; eligible students may apply for federal financial aid (Pell Grants and federal loans).
Alia is not currently accepting new LPN students; new applicants apply directly through AIAM, five miles from our Columbus campus.

Certified Medication Aide (MA-C)
Alia Healthcare was the first training program in Columbus, Ohio approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing to offer the Certified Medication Aide (MA-C) course. The program prepares certified nurse aides to safely administer medications in long-term care facilities under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
Building on your CNA credential, you'll train in medication safety and administration techniques, reading and documenting medication orders, and recognizing and reporting side effects and errors. Graduates are eligible to sit for the Ohio Board of Nursing MA-C certification examination.
